Tantra And Sacred Sexuality: Everything You Need To Know

Tantra is a very ancient practice in Indian culture that means ‘woven together. ' Sex has been regarded as one of the most important spiritual experiences in all our sacred texts.

That's why the tantra relationship talks about merging the physical experiences with the spiritual ones. It brings together sexuality and spirituality and focuses on spiritual intimacy during the process of physical closeness. But this sacred sexuality doesn't only talk about sexual pleasure; rather, its philosophy is broad-based. It talks about knowing your body and feeling a higher level of sensuality while intertwining it with spirituality and mindfulness.

Why Is The Tantra Relationship Important To Us?

Sacred sexuality preaches to weave masculine and feminine energy, transcending the bodies into one. But why is it important to us?

  • Stronger And Deeper Bonding:

Every couple wants to deepen their bond. Practicing tantric sex can create a connection between the partners like never before. The connection is not just about the body; it intermingles the three main aspects of our lives: body, mind, and soul.

  • Multiple Orgasms:

We often think rough and wild sexual activities lead to better pleasure. But in tantric sex, the process is slow; the key is to focus on breathing and touch your partner to feel his/her body and mind and not to gain something. And this calm process, ironically, leads to multiple orgasms for both the partners involved.

  • No Sexual Insecurities:

Even between partners, there may be some insecurities regarding our bodies, the way we behave during sexual activities, the way we react to certain sensualities, etc. Practicing tantric sex with your beloved partner can release all the sexual shame and bring you both closer like never before. Touching your partner slowly and giving him/her the time to react, accepting the sensual reaction without any judgment, and continuing the process lead to the end of all the sexual energy blocks you both were holding onto.

  • Can Solve Many Of The Sexual Problems:

Preachers of tantric sex believe that this process can resolve premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, or even anorgasmia, etc.

How Can It Be Practiced?

  • Know Your Body:

The first step is to take time and explore your body, how you want to be touched, and where you want to be touched. This will enhance the sexual pleasure you feel with your partner.

  • Know Your Partner's Body:

If both partners engage themselves in knowing their partner's body, their needs, and their pleasure points, it will improve their sexual experience and bring them closer. You can try giving a full body massage to each other to find out the same.

  • Be Prepared:

This is a slow process. So, set aside enough time to practice it and do not rush things. You can try meditating to calm your mind, keep all your stresses aside, put on some relaxing music, or light a scented candle. The key is to prepare your body and mind to get into a deeper level of sexual connection.

  • Do Not Follow Any Script:

The goal is to enjoy the process and not to reach any destination. So, you shouldn't follow the script of foreplay, intercourse, and orgasm. Rather, explore your sexual world and do whatever you feel like doing, touch wherever you feel like touching, and enjoy the process without any judgment.

Myths About Tantric Sex:

  • It Is Only About Sexual Pleasure:

It involves various spiritual practices. It does not preach wild, uninterrupted, and rough sexual activities; rather, it involves slow and calm sensual touches, which increases the sexual energy. It encompasses activities like breathing, yoga, and meditation to activate sexual energy.

  • Orgasm Is The Aim:

In tantric sex, orgasm may be a by-product, but it never is the goal. It is more about feeling a deeper connection, either with your body or with your partner. The process is slow, and you are taught in tantric classes to feel each touch with all your mindfulness.

  • You Always Need A Partner:

While most couples practice tantric sex together, it is not necessary to have a partner to practice tantric sex. It can be an individual exploration of their own body and mind.

  • Sexual Intercourse Is A Must:

No doubt, it can enhance the experience. However, not having one does not make the process incomplete. Practicing sex with tantric energy is all about touching your partner and yourself in whatever way you find the best. It is never about any position or intercourse; it is just about deeper connections and feeling emotions.

Tantric sex is a meditative form of sexual activity. The ultimate goal is not orgasm but to feel your partner's touch, to explore and know their body, and to enjoy the sexual journey and feel the sensations all over the body. Practicing sex with tantric energy helps in the movement of the awakened sexual energy throughout the body, which can enlighten, heal, and transform our body, mind, and soul. Come to Embodied Awakening Academy and embrace the scared.
